Throughout his career, David Thompson has consistently generated positive exposure in the media.  With exciting performances as an amateur, David caught the eye of the press, and they have continue to spotlight him as a professional.  His path though life, educational background and previously undiscovered talent as multi-sport athlete are inspiring to other athletes and the general public.  The press’s draw to David is also complimented by his efforts to establish and develop relationships with the press corps.  Each year he makes approximately 100 media appearances.

Being Minnesota born, David’s success and humility has lead to a strong following in the Midwest.  The local triathlon community regards David not only as star of triathlon but also one of their own.  The St Paul Illustrated covered the David’s triathlon career with the same enthusiasm as they cover hometown Twins Baseball star Joe Mauer in the previous issue.

Fellow athletes and spectators approach David everyday, and he cherishes these interactions.  His approachability also transfers into regular interactions with press through; online instructional video, favorite workout columns, race tips and reviews, basic triathlon knowledge, and a myriad of other topics.
